Photo-stop at the famous Blue Dome in Firostefani. Ask Kostas to take a picture of you!
This Santorini highlights tour with Akrotiri is the perfect blend of the island’s top scenic spots and a deep dive into its fascinating ancient history. It combines the most iconic locations with a guided visit to one of the most stunning archaeological sites in the world—Akrotiri.
The remarkably well-preserved ancient Minoan city of Akrotiri was buried under volcanic ash during a massive eruption 3,600 years ago and rediscovered in 1967 near the modern village of the same name. Archaeologists uncovered sophisticated artifacts, including pottery, furniture, three-story buildings, and even an advanced drainage system. Interestingly, many believe this site inspired Plato’s legendary tale of Atlantis.
Thanks to a modern bioclimatic shelter covering the site, visiting Akrotiri is a comfortable experience—even during Santorini’s hottest months.
This 6-hour guided tour is ideal for anyone who wants to explore the essential Santorini highlights in comfort and style. The itinerary includes:
A scenic visit to Oia, the famous northern village known for its sunsets and charming streets
A photo stop at the iconic blue dome in Firostefani, one of the island’s most photographed spots
A relaxing stroll through Megalochori, a traditional village with narrow alleys and authentic Cycladic architecture
A choice between visiting a black sand beach or enjoying a wine tasting at a local winery
A guided tour of Akrotiri, one of the most significant archaeological sites in the Aegean
Not only does this tour save you time by combining top attractions into one day, but it also offers a rich mix of history, culture, and breathtaking scenery. From iconic views to ancient mysteries, you’ll walk away having truly experienced the Santorini highlights.
