Traditional Greek Food in Santorini With A Twist
To Ouzeri, or Ouzeri for short has been delighting locals and tourists in Fira for over twelve years. Chef Giorgios Stakias has created menus which showcase the island’s traditional cuisine, at the same time giving it a modern twist. Taking the meze concept to a whole new level, enjoy Santorini specialities with family and friends. To Ouzeri is a traditional Greek taverna in the centre of Fira, just near the Cathedral (it’s large enough to accommodate a party of 30).

To Ouzeri is spacious and welcoming
What does Ouzeri mean? An ouzeria is a type of Greek tavern which serves ouzo (the famour Greek liquor) and mezedes, which are small finger foods. Chef Giorgios was classically trained and loves to introduce French techniques into his cooking, whilst at the same time sticking to Greek traditions.

Try classics like meatballs in Ouzo sauce, fava, tomato fritters, keftedes (fritters) with Ouzo, moussaka and souvlaki, and wash it down with Santorini wine or raki (if you’re feeling brave). The fresh fish and seafood are also delicious.
To Ouzeri is also popular on Trip Advisor, with visitors leaving great reviews and positive comments. They rave about the excellent quality food, great service, good value for money and welcoming atmosphere. Reviewers praise the meatballs, manouri cheese and tomato keftedes in particular. Even though there’s no caldera view, the high quality of the menu definitely makes up for it!

Trip Advisor reviews
“We loved it so much that we came back two nights in a row to eat here. The service was great and the food was just phenomenal. Definitely get the mozzarella pesto app and the Greek salad…they are the best on the island!! – Nicyo
“I thoroughly recommend this second floor restaurant with terrace and inside tables. We received a warm welcome and prompt, friendly and intelligent service. My companion has some specific dietary requirements which were accommodated with no fuss or problem. We had simple grilled prawns with salad and prawn saganaki which were both perfect. Some good local wine added to a simple but admirable meal.” – putneyperson
