There’s no shortage of great places to eat in Santorini, but if you’re visiting for the first time it’s a good idea to get recommendations before you break the bank. It’s difficult to think of better places to enjoy a special meal and the Santorini sunset than Catch Bar and Restaurant. It’s the perfect place to sample traditional Greek cuisine, freshly caught seafood and great local wine.
Freshly caught seafood and traditional Greek food
Foodies will enjoy an exciting menu, which features a wide variety of salads and seafood as starters (the tuna tartare nicoise and the octopus, accompanied by fava bean puree and orange gel stand out). Tempured anchovies and seared scallops are also popular. Every taste is catered for with the main courses – with seafood pasta and risotto, fresh fish bouillabaise, steak, lamb, chicken and Iberico ham. Or you can choose the Catch of the Day, Lobster or steak from the Jasper Grill. If you’re in the mood to share, then choose a variety of dishes from their extensive sushi menu (Nigri, Sashimi, Maki and Futomaki rolls).
An eclectic drinks menu
You’re spoilt for choice when it comes to wine and cocktails at Catch. The wine menu is eclectic and features many local and Greek wineries, including white wines from Argyros Estate, rose wine from Gavalas Estate in Megalochri and reds from Thymiopoulos Estate in Thessaloniki and Douloufakis Estate in Crete. Enjoy signature cocktails such as Breakfast on Sunset (gin, mastic liquer infused with orange peel, berries, marmalade and lime) and Aegean Spritz (Aperol, prosecco slow cooked with Aegean herbs and aromatics, sparkling water). You’ll also find a wide range of spirits from all over the world.
If you’re not ready to go home after you’ve finished a delicious meal, then check the events section of the website to find out if your meal coincides with a DJ set or a live music night. DJs from around the world can be found spinning tunes until the sun comes up (dance all night then watch the sunset – the perfect night).
